Heating Vessels

Heating vessels accommodate the expansion which takes place within closed heating and hot water systems when the water is heated. Since the volume of water goes up by approximately 4.5% when heated from 0°C to 100°C, the heating vessel accommodates this additional increase in pressure, allowing the system to continue to function normally. 

When water temperature goes up, the membrane inside the heating vessel expands so that water may enter the vessel, thereby relieving the overall pressure.
